The Wild is officially unveiling its new sweater on Sunday, but due to some web site updates the NHL is doing, some photos got leaked.
You can see the photos here at Icethetics, which is an awesome site if you're into jerseys and logos and stuff, but it's back to the dark green and looks like a wheat color? And an old-school script logo.
It's pretty sharp, IMO, but not one I'd buy. But very much sticks with that old school hockey aesthetic that Minnesota hockey lovers should dig, given their strong pride in the hockey heritage there. Pride or obnoxiousness, anyway... Kidding MNs! Love ya.
Anyway, check it out and come back and tell us what you think. I think Burnzie needs a haircut.

The first time I saw at it, I hated it. Then I explored the Icethetics web site a bit, and when I took another look, I didn't hate it as much altho comments on Icethetics are very positive.
Being in a whiney mood at the moment, I'm going to venture off topic and say,
THE AEROS NEED A GOAL HORN!!!
I don't like it because of the lettering.
In my opinion, "MINNESOTA" is too long of a word to spell out on a jersey of any kind when it is THE primary focus of the jersey.
I do, however, love the rest of it. Green looks really sharp here.
And OH MY GOD CatTrick you are right. The lack of a celebratory goal horn at the Aeros games is something that true hockey fans have been lamenting in Houston for years.
Do you know how many times since 2003 I have been asked "That's it?" by visiting media and first time hockey viewers when the Aeros score a goal.
I can't think of too many times (both sexually and non-sexually) where "That's it?" is a good reaction.
Back to the goal horn ... They have never had one, even at Compaq Center, and it has always been about money.
I know the first year or so at Toyota Center, they tried playing a goal horn through the Sound system, but the levels were never right and it sounded very cheesy.
Now they have a PA announcer that screams "score the goal" when the puck goes in the net. For some reason I hated that at first, but now I like that better than playing the goal horn.
The San Antonio Rampage have the best goal horn in our division.
Air Raid Siren
The air raid siren is what Mr.C likes. I hate it. Makes me panicky.
That horn in SA... I'm still vibrating from it. You can hear it in Katy. Madre de dios, it's LOUD.
Are you saying you'd like to hear one, or that the air raid siren is good as a substitute for a goal horn?
If it's the former, then, well, the Aeros do play an Air Raid Siren. If it's the latter, then, yeah, they have had that for years ... I agree that it's better than "SCORE THE GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAL!"
It just needs to be louder.
The thirds are better than their regular sweater, though that isn't saying much. At least it isn't like the ugly red thing.
Air raid siren. Or at least by the horn at Ford Arena, seeing as that one won't be used for quite a while.
oh, yes - air raid siren includes the bomb dropping sound.
ROTFLMAO, Andrew ... Your "that's it?" comment (both sexually and non-sexually) has totally snapped me out of my whiney mood. Thanks!
Speaking of the Wild ... any more news on the possibility of a trade for Dany Heatley? (Pretty please, say it's off the table!)!!!
Well I am glad to hear that I made your day. Ha! But seriously, I needed a good visual to convey the letdown that most new fans experience when they go to an Aeros game at Toyota Center.
I think most seasoned fans get used to it after awhile, and again, the announber "being" the goal horn at Toyota Center has become a staple.
As for Heatley, I don't know ... the rumors have died down, and after the whole Favre experience, is anything ever REALLY off the table?
Darn you guys... I'm disappointed to have read this, now I'll be expecting a lack of horn when I come to an Aeros game. But I'll be sure to say "Thats it?" anyway, seems obligatory.
As for the 3rds, it seems too much like a Michigan State jersey. Maybe if they added some thin red stripes between the white and green parts or something.
I've been out of town, so I'm just now going to comment...
Third jerseys are useless and worthless. There should be two jerseys. Home. Road. (And I'll let you have a jersey for warm-ups). Any other jersey is just an excuse to get money from suckers.
I also don't like horns and sirens after a goal. If you need a horn or a siren to get you excited after a goal, then you probably shouldn't go to the game and you should give your tickets to someone who actually wants to watch some hockey. (This applies even more so to the Astros and that stupid and obnoxious train whistle they blow after scoring a run.)
any updates/news on Matt Beaudoin??
I rely too much on third intermission for news lol
thanks! :)
No updates on Matt Beaudoin ...
As far as I know he is still a free agent, and will likely sign an AHL/ECHL deal with whatever team he ends up going to camp for.

Well, one 'good' thing about that 3rd Jersey: it has a wide strip of light material on the bottom for all those autographs, fans want to collect :-)
And any news about Jesse Schultz?
Seems Beaudoin and Schultz have simply dropped off the ice surface ;-(
Maybe Beaudoin is inspired to complete his education in finance and go back for a masters?
I kinda dig it. I may even buy one. But who should I get on the back..... That is the question.
Clutterbuck :)
You know I'll always lean toward Pouliot... I hope he has a breakout season this year!!!!
:) More for you, honey!
