The Dimples shot won it for me for one reason... the arm of the Moose player in the Irmen photo. If that wasn't there, it would be a brilliant composition, but it is and takes away from the shot.
(Though I'm sure Fred will agree, there's not much you can do in getting players to move for you to get the perfect shot of someone!)
I kinda feel that way, Chris, but I also kinda like that it gives it context. There are some other great ones by Fred that are well composed, just the player, stick, etc. flying up the ice. The Beaudoin one was a great example. But without the context of an opponent somewhere in it, I dunno, I just think it has more impact with the "enemy" in view.
But technically speaking, I certainly see your point.

The swoop is IT. I love Dimples and voted for that earlier.. but the compostion of the swoop - my kinda 'fly me to the Moon' feeling.
Yep. I hate to not vote for Dimples because that photo speaks to my cranky goalie heart a little more, but I had to go Irms, too.
I was trying to decide which bird of prey Irms reminds me of. At first, I thought eagle.. but I think he's more like a HAWK.
It's a good feeling that the "Swoop" will be repeated this season. The fans welcome you back, Irms.

I don't know, Chris.. the 'LEG' gives it emphasis..because it is parallel to, thus reinforcing, the Swoop.
