The season is over, so it's time for players to start signing new contracts, changing teams, etc. And today the first Aero departed for greener pastures as JM Daoust signed with the Straubing Tigers of the DEL.
Good luck Jean-Michel. I enjoyed watching him, even when he wasn't on the ice as he seemed, from my eye, to be one of the chemistry guys every team absolutely needs to have. And read the Google translation story that I linked to you because there you'll be amazed at what Dauost was able to accomplish weighing only 75-pounds.

Will the last member of the 2010-2011 Aeros to leave please turn out the lights?
3ccc3 says - I hate to see him leave. He was so quick on the ice, buzzing around and making a real pest of himself to the competition. Off the ice he was such a delight to talk to, quick wit, funny sense of humor and what a smile. I wish him well!!!
Well Darnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn......
Keep up the Studies there J-M, yer gonna be a "Number Cruncher" before ya know it........
:)
I hate to see him go but wish him much success with his new team. I love the translation..."little whirlwind." He was that for sure. I enjoyed watching him bang those big guys into the boards and was so happy he scored in the games he played at the end of the playoffs. You were a great Aero, JM, and most definitely a fan favorite.
Bon Voyage JM and Murielle! Germany will like you for sure as much as we all did here! The Scrapper goes to Deutschland. Bonne Chance mes amis!
Apropos, that should be 75 KILO not pounds!
I found this contract chart on the Wild's site:
http://wild.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=64613
Eight of the 2010-2011 guys are still under wild control (as well as a few restricted free agents), so maybe we'll be seeing some familiar faces next season. Of course with the way they all played in the play-offs, it may be in a Wild, not an Aeros, uniform....
Good luck to JM........and thanks. You'll be missed but as we know in this league nothing remains the same.
Wonder if Kassian is next. The organization obviously doesn't intend to use an enforcer in their game plan. If Kassian were in a different organization, I think he'd be up in the NHL. Here, he sits on the bench. Like JM, he's got to be frustrated with the way he was played this year.
Kassian has another year on his contract. I would expect he'll be around still.
I think Kass and Falker are two guys "the organization" might have given up on - unless they want to keep them here as CMLs.
I had the pleasure of "knowing" JM throughout the playoffs, I met him after game 5 of the Milwaukee series, we had like a 30 minute chat about the Aeros and hockey, and I saw him a few more times and just asked him how his day was ect. I'm going to miss him, he was such a class act, to talk to some nerdy 17 year old after a loss and look like he wanted to really shows his character, I was hoping to see him next season, but he made a decision that was the best for him, and I can respect that. See ya buddy.
I'm happy for JM! Finally getting into a great city with a Gothic city tower and a great cathedral! Lovely city and the best country in the world!
