This story is developing, but it looks like there will be a preseason game in Houston this year.
A game between the affiliates of the Texas Stars and San Antonio Rampage.

I'll repeat my "tweet" in that I would be more excited if the Wild were playing a game here BUT if there is a good turn out for the game then maybe there might be a Wild game here next pre-season.
I doubt they would even sell out the Toy Box, so why have it at the big stadium, which is IMHO an inappropriate venue for hockey.
Not to mention the ice will probably be a disaster.
Just a very bad idea.
An optimist might call it "The Climate Warming Classic".
It's ridiculous to have it at Reliant; no way will they fill it up. Why not the Toy Box where hockey is already played? Houston's climate isn't all that different from Dallas and Phoenix, just higher humidity.
In case you did not read it, the event WAS cancelled due to cost!http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/07/06/3204748/stars-coyotes-exhibition-game.html
