The Aeros finished the preseason with a 3-2 shootout win over Texas on Sunday, getting goals from Joel Broda and Warren Peters. In the shootout, Carson McMillan, Jeff Taffe and Jarod Palmer scored to give the Aeros the imaginary extra point.

Speaking of Broda, that is something else to keep an eye on this week. Last year, he made the team out of camp and put the puck in the net early on. There is no question he is offensively gifted. But he's got to work on his whole game. Frankly, he's got to play defense well enough to justify his stay with the team. That just wasn't there last year. We'll find out soon enough if he was able to improve that part of his game.
Also, what do you think of the new jerseys? This is the first time I have seen them on a player. At first glance they look a bit busy, but I do like the grey on the road sweaters. I think I like them, but I want to see them in person before I endorse ...

Its amazing how 2 shoulder patches, 2 sleeve patches and the State Farm patch manage to busy up what I find in Minnesota to be a horribly dull template.
I'm still a fan of them though, at least they have some color changes from the Wild jerseys unlike the previous jerseys.
These days hockey sweaters are nothing more than a marketing gimmick to get people to buy something that is either "cool" or simply because it is somwthing new.
Expect them to change in 2-3 years, or when sales drop off, whichever comes first.
I don't think either are particularly attractive, though distancing themselves from the Wild a bit was a good intention. For a change, the aways this year are better looking than the home.
On a separate topic, any word on a radio contrcat this season? I checked the KNTH web site last night and saw nothing.
Those red on gray TV numbers are mighty hard to read from far away.
Our Jerseys looked great. Texas wore what looked like really thin practice Jerseys with no Names.
We had no team play and no system. We had some players with more talent than we are used to. An Hackett let in two softies and one of the shoot out goals. At times he was fighting for position and just plain lucky. But there were some pretty amazing saves.
